Empowering Youth and Young Women: Use of Technology in Advocacy

Would you use technologies for advocacy? Dive into the world of apps to see how they can be used to advocate for gender equality in the labour market. Several reports have highlighted the continued vulnerabilities of young women in the labour market. In 2017, the global rate of young women’s labour force participation is 16.6 percentage points lower than that of young men. Unemployment rates of young women are also significantly higher than those of young men, and the gender gap in the rate of young people not in employment, education or training is even wider. Apps now tap into the opinions and experiences of young people all across the world making them the perfect advocacy tool empowering young people to share their stories and use the data to trigger change. Drop in this workshop if you are curious to know how to turn technology into advocacy.
